I’ve arrived!
You know when there’s an announcement over the PA system in the airport saying it’s the last call for someone to board a flight? I always wondered how someone could miss their flight when they’ve clearly already checked in at the airport. How do you miss your flight when you’re already there? The answer: you’re at JFK Airport waiting for the slowest Starbucks barista on earth to finish making your caffé misto (drop coffee + warm milk). It took between 20 and 30 minutes. I kid you not. As a result, I almost missed my flight! How ridiculous.
But anyway, I got on the plane, it landed, I had a wonderful afternoon catching up with Chris in Toronto and then headed off to Amsterdam with Transat Holidays! I’m in my swanky new hotel room right now at the Double Tree by Hilton near Amsterdam Centraal Station having just taken one of the best showers ever (much needed as well — I’ve been up since 1am EST and it’s now 4:15am the next day EST), and about to head out into a somewhat chilly day to see something before Div and Priya drop by in two hours.
The room really is awesome. It comes with a Mac that doubles as a TV, a mini bar with Heineken (included in the room), and the welcome package included caramel wafers and an I Amsterdam City Card. Tech + mini bar + wafers + discount card = awesome.
I’ll update you again soon!
